the best!

As is usually the case, the best parts of the Triple Crown Pageant last night were accidental — or purposefully unplanned, depending on your point of view. Towards the end of the night, and as part of a raffle benefiting AIDS Care Ocean State (if we remember correctly), a fabulously buzzing and chatty Kitty Litter took the stage to draw tickets and hand out prizes. The first prize went to Ty Wooley (who used to bartend at Fatty’s), who secretly did not have the winning ticket — to which Kitty muttered “just take it and get the fuck off the stage!”. Then Dark Lady co-owner, Buck, won a HUGE basket of lube bottles, one of which ended up in Jackie DiMera’s cleavage.

Then there’s the issue of Divine Lee‘s win. Certainly, it was deserved; she obviously loves performing and seemed to want it more than anyone else. She’s also more than qualified to do the job. It’s how she won that needs a closer look.

divine_rockyOne of Divine Lee’s good friends is Mr. Gay Everything, Rocky Graziano. Rocky is also friends with one of the judges, fellow Bostonian Melissa Gellespie. So what though?, this is Rhode Island and everyone knows everyone else anyway. Hell, even we knew at at least half of the judges. However, we weren’t buzzing in Melissa’s ear all night “suggesting” who she vote for in each category; that was left to Rocky — who sure did smile big as he placed that crown on Divine’s head. This is not surprising, but it sure is telling.

What else is telling was the judge’s inability to see past Sarah Beyers‘ transgendered identity while running for Miss Lesbian. We don’t think that all of the judges were Bitchidence.com readers, so many of them wouldn’t have gotten the chance to read Sarah’s interview with us where she basically made her case for being Miss Lesbian. Everyone who read her side of the story instantly got it, and gained at least some sympathy for her situation and what she was up against. However, that’s what the interview portion of the pageant was for — the real-live interview where Sarah no doubt used her sharp man-voice to speak to the judges. We’re certain that they heard her speak, so probably weren’t able to listen without a certain degree of hesitation — whether they were aware of it or not. And as articulate and disarming as Sarah can be, she still lost the interview part of the competition.

UP NEXT: The after-party!

Honestly, I hardly doubt the wonderful Miss Kitty Litter would post on this blog. She is far too busy hanging-out in the peep booths at the Amazing Store.

It’s common known in the pageant world……the winner of the pageant interview wins the pageant. The triple crown point system is like miss america pageant system……pageant interview is 35 points max to be earned……..talent is 35 points……20 points evening gown…….question and answer is 10 points……the interview & talent make up 70% of the points to be earned in whole triple crown

each of the winners won the pageant interview

See…. This is why I drink and get drunk – just to tolerate all of you MOFO’s. Sarah is definately the bomb and never needed this title to be the bomb – She’s already made a difference. Congrats to Divine, hopefully I will never get another email from her asking for money to buy her outfits and stuff while the rest of us work for what little we have. And Thankfully the brew has never led me down a path where I felt I had to play musical chairs by myself on a stage during a pageant. Thats my feeling with it. Let’s roll with it and move on.

Ps. Bucky promised that he would play with that new lube basket with me – WTF he hasn’t called yet!!!

LOL, ok everyone why don’t we all “SIT THE FUCK DOWN” its sad how we worry so much about what this one did and what that one said… if we all just worried about ourselves and not the idiotic smaller things that happen in this big drama filled small city I believe we’d all get along that much better. Yes Ada is a skinny gurrrl, but she does her thang ;) so PLEASE LEAVE US SKIINY TRANNIES ALONE!! (Inspired by my all time favorite tranny Chris Crocker) about the pageant: in my opinion I think its fair to state that its winners are selected way before the actual night of the event. Elle lost in last year’s competition (which honestly she should have won hands down) but because she too is tranny and does what she gotta do and doesn’t give a fuck… the title was robbed from her. I’m sore over this year’s pageant due to watching my best friend bust her ass and come in last because of the fact that a panel of judges couldn’t view past the issue of a lesbian who is transgender, in my opinion Sarah Beyers was wrongfully used to draw in a larger crowd for this year’s competition. And truly that is the worst from of discrimination sadly enough coming from the people and friends of her own community. Pride of R.I will never allow a trans member of the community to up hold any of the triple crown titles (Ms. Gay, Lesbian, or Mr. Gay) for the simple reason that many people view someone who is transgender as either prostitutes, confused, or unstable. I ran and won the title of Ms. Gay Pride this past year, and I can say that if I were running against a popular drag queen of the Providence area I most deff wouldn’t have won. But because most of the ladies were trannies with the exception of MiMi La’Flame (of course) I can say I felt the pageant was judged fairly. One thing that I’ve been dwelling on since Divine’s win is… I wonder if Pride is aware that Divine Lee is transitioning to become a woman herself. This fact isn’t know by many but her closest friends and family, but how will Pride adapt to this year’s Ms. Gay R.I begin her path to live each day more as Ms. Straight R.I?

All the judges were very professional and well qualified and diverse. All of them probably did their best to be fair and impartial. In 2 of the 3 categories the competition was tough and the judges had their work cut out for them. I think the problem came in the category of the Mister’s. When the judges realized the best choice was and unemployed fur wearing shiny suited guy with a self given name of Scotty2hottie, they did what anyone would do, they got drunk and tried to have fun.

    Shoop,
My dear darling…. I never said there was anything wrong with curves. I don’t have curves.. I’m skinny… And.. I’m happy skinny…. This is my life babydoll… I don’t throw on A Wig one night a week and lip sync. I’m a Tranny and I do a very good job maintaining myself. I’m proud of my progression… I very rarely am ever seen looking a hot ass mess. So unless your paying to alter my “Curves” take your place in the corner and sit the fuck down…

You know; I find it odd that there’s all this drama THIS year, when the year that boggles MY mind is last year. This year, all the girls were pretty even whereas last year we had a future Miss Continental trained in classical dance who lost by 30 points. Nobody seemed to make a fuss then; why now? I watched every category for the girls, and from my perspective it was too close to call. I had it between Deja and Jealousy myself; but the one thing the other girls didn’t have was Divine’s hunger. It was palpable. She had campaigned for this for over a year, and her hard work paid off. Let’s support her instead of being pieces of shit about something that can’t be changed; no?

All 11 contestants worked very hard and sadly only 3 people can win. The judges only have to sit down for their category. As we all saw, the pageant took 3 hours, people are naturally going to get up when they are not needed.
It is an event in a club, and we are all adults. The people we picked we picked with the confidence that they would choose the right people for the job and in the end they crowned who they felt would represent the community the best.

Once again.. you have no idea what your talking about. When you post a comment for public view, it does not have to be directed to anyone. How many times must you cunts be told this??? And to assume someone is sick because they are naturally skinny shows how ignorant you truly are. feel free to come up to me in the club and say what you have to say to my face.. which i know you wont do… btw who the fuck is Joey?

Then explain why all the judges kept getting up to get drinks never stayed in thier seats. Seeing you were soooo busy Rocky cuz you’re important & all that did you even notice most of the judges were cocked when it was time to vote even some judges were asking other drag queens who they should vote for because they had no idea what the fuck they were doing. Speak on that bitch. You know the pageant is not being fair but who gives a fuck huh when people enter & work thier hardest to be crowned yet get shafted in the end.

Thanks all for the feedback. I know all of the contestants and Divine is no more my friend than Deijah or Gia or Jealousy. The only one I do not know very well is Roxiie.
I find it interesting how in an earlier post you were all saying how wonderful Divine was all evening and now all of a sudden it’s questionable that she won.
To enlighten you guys, here are a couple of truths. There are 12 judges, 4 per category 1 being the alternate for each category. That person does not even know they are the alternate and there scores are used in the event of a tie.
Interview is worth a lot of the total score, and Divine won interview. So going into the pageant she was already winning by a big enough margin and she was good onstage.
Let’s not cheapen someone’s win because we are a fan of someone else. It was very close and in the end Divine was the winner.
Melissa is a professional recruiter and trust me was not influenced in any way but me or anyone else.
In the future we need to sequester the judges better because there were people in front of them all night long that shouldn’t have been.
Sarah was judged fairly like the other two contestants. Sarah Howes won interview. She then sang and played the guitar LIVE. Live talents usually score higher.
As for my pageants/titles whatever. They are qualifiers to national titles and some require you to live in states others don’t. They are different than the RI titles.
As for the murad/proactiv comment…Honestly no need to get cheap.
If people have comments about the pageant and want to give feedback for it’s improvement feel free to email me on facebook or myspace.
I appreciate Bitchidence getting dialogue going about what is going on, but at the same time, Divine or Sarah Howes or Scottie or anyone who had the guts to put themselves out there in the hopes that in some small way they may make a difference does not describe to be ripped apart in any forum.
She won, it’s over. If you asked me before who I wanted to win or thought was going to win it would not have been Divine. She is a friend but most importantly she is someone who wants to make a difference and she won the pageant fair and square.

Y’know, that’s raises a question I’ve been wondering for a loooooong time. I haven’t seen him really in any pageants or shows or anything so this isn’t a judgement on that but how is Rocky Mr. Gay All-50-States-At-Different-Times? Like, how do you manage that? I was in a pageant once (sort of accidentally), and one of the requirements was living within a certain distance of the place. Does anyone know how Rocky manages to do this?
