So last night we paid a visit to Tranny-mania: Full Throttle, at Dark Lady. It was more performances, more lip syncing, and in Gia’s case, way more high kicks and back-bends. The music was fun and they played the Kill Bill movies on the screen. Other than that, it was tranny-mania as usual, which is usually anything but usual… usually.
However, as is often the case on Snow St., the real fun is more likely to happen in the actual street itself. Take, for example the countless trannies and drag queens who spend parts of their nights tricking between the Alleycat side of Snow St. and the Ultra side of Richmond St. Bitch, the clubs are the most boring places to go if you know what you’re looking at!
We even spotted Miss Divine Lee Sei sending one of her fellow asian tranny hookers into a waiting car in the Dark Lady parking lot! (who then came back and said “he doesn’t want to pay…”) We don’t think that was something they taught her in Triple Crown charm school… That might be more of a House of Lee Sei thing!

It saddens me to hear when some of the younger transgender community choose to work in sex for sale industry.In the 50′s – 80′s many of us had no other option. It was against the law to cross dress and no other carrer path.
However, Today there are many choices for the Trans Community , ther are laws to protect us. Many are now educated , community leaders,parents, married and have sucessful careers.Use your brains and your body.
As for Divine Lee , she is not part of the House of Lee-Sei since April 23,2009.

well put sarah, but in my defense when i stated that “our” mission was to be controversial when promoting tranny mania in the very beginning i stand by that 100% just the fact of being the first club/night in providence to play tranny porn and draw in a different form of crowd “the tranny chasers” is enough controversy within itself (all press is good press) which in my opinion is why haley star and jena decided to step down and leave the night’s destiny completely in our hands (just being honest here;). and like you stated in your comment, Rob was aware and more then happy to allow the night’s uniqueness to shine through, i’m not ashamed by any means of wednesday nights, and i know that like myself you also take great pride in what we’ve transformed it to be. i can truly say that i would play out the reasons to the night’s growing success in the same fashion all over again. the issue at hand, and i know you’ll agree is that this is our job and we take it seriously, if others choose to shit where they eat it simply isn’t our issue.
Great comment Parrys. I seldom comment on this site unless it’s something I think is either important within the community or something that involves me directly. Parrys, I know you try to live by that also. So while I agree with most of what she said – I wouldn’t say I ever set out to promote the night as something controversial-Parrys, you know that this concept of “controversy” as a means to an end, is something we have never really agreed apon. Anyway, when this night was offered to me, my intention was to invigorate a Wed with some new and different kind of energy, also bring some new faces to a night that had otherwise stayed pretty flat. Don’t get me wrong, I have every respect for the 4 girls who originally started this night, a year earlier. In fact that same Wed night is when I got my start performing. So to me Wed always has a special place and it’s where some of my roots are. With that said I always try to give a special nod to my “drag” sisters. When I started into this community, drag girls were really my influence. “tranny” performers or showgirls were not really upfront in Providence. For Wed, lately we have been trying to sorta blend in the original concept of the Ladies Social w a sort of all-inclusive twist. Like Parrys mentioned, a night that ALL can enjoy. Really Rob is owed a lot of credit for this night, as he had the vision and the faith to give us a chance and let us run with some new ideas. As far as Divine, well who knows how it really went down that night. Either way, can she really be held responsible for the actions of her company? That’s kinda tough. We are all adults. While she is expected to be an example, she can’t really police everyone’s actions. Whatever people do in their private lives is not our place to say. Just hopefully keep it private..
I was waiting for this topic to be brought up for awhile now… when wednesday nights first hit the night scene as tranny mania the buzz behind it was that it would be a night where trannies and the men who admire them could meet and greet. Sure maybe i guess to many this was viewed as a brothel like night and maybe that was the exact intention that sarah and i had in mind in order to promote and expose the night as something new and controversial. but as the night grew we slowly brought into the place a more mature classy vibe, hence removing the tranny porn after 10 pm and changing the night’s name back to “a ladies’ social.” but sadly enough ppl are going to do what they wanna do, like with suzie and her reputation for luring men into the ladies’ room and a handful of gurls who bounce in and out of the club onto the parking lot all night long. but what we all need to keep in mind is that these ppl are adults and know what they are doing which in result, it isn’t the night’s fault that this is going on. wednesday nights at the dark lady by any means DOES NOT ENCOURAGE prostitution or working gurls who “play for pay” we take pride in knowing that we bring to providence a great line up of entertainment and that all forms of ppl gay, straight, bi, lesbian and transgender are allowed into the club and enjoy the performers, awesome booze, the company of friends and hott music.
